Chairman of the Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission, Mike Ushie, has resigned his appointment.

Ushie in a letter dated July 14, 2024, sent to state governor, Bassey Otu and routed through the Secretary to State Government, Anthony Owan Enoh, Ushie said the decision to resign his appointment is “…to enable me return to the university for further research work having worked for over six years in this capacity.”

The outgone chairman thanked the governor and the good people of Cross River State the support to him. When www.calitown.com spoke with him at 03:00 p.m today to confirm his resignation, he sounded upbeat and said he was happy to move on and has already gone back to school where he is an associate professor.

His resignation is born out of the fact that he is conscious that the Governor will not retain him any longer haven’t served the commission for six years.

    Anyway, happy resignation!
