Cross River PDP Senatorial Aspirant Leaves PDP

Posted on August 21, 2024 By Admin No Comments on Cross River PDP Senatorial Aspirant Leaves PDP
Ofem

Thomas Ofem, a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, senatorial aspirant in the 2023 elections, has resigned his membership of the PDP.

Ofem stated in his letter of resignation, dated August 20, 2024, that it is his “… considered opinion that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as currently constituted, especially in Cross River State and the Yakurr Local Government Area, will not enable the Yakurr people to actualise their collective and individual sociopolitical and economic aspirations.”

He stated further that he has “…regrettably decided to terminate my membership in the PDP and search for political actualization elsewhere.”

Ofem contested the party’s ticket for the Central Senatorial District and lost.
