Authorities of the Cross River University of Technology, CRUTECH, have approved the appointment of veteran broadcaster and Mass Communication teacher, Cornellius Udo Ellah as the Acting Head, Department of Mass Communication, CRUTECH, Calabar, CRS.

Ellah, who majored in Theatre Arts and Mass Communication, joined the department as a lecturer in 1996, after working with the Cross River Broadcasting Corporation, CRBC, from 1994 to 1996, becoming in the process the first presenter of a live sports programme in that station. He also won Best TV Sports Presenter in Cross River State at the Night of Media Stars, South South region, award of excellence in 1997.

In CRUTECH, he was Exam Officer, Department of Mass Communication, CRUTECH, 2006 to 2012 and 2014 to 2015. Member, Senate Examination Vetting Committee, 2012/2013 to 2015/2016 session, among other positions of responsibility.

Awarded the “Most Active Lecturer of the Year Award” for the 2011/2012 academic session, by Mass Communication Students Association (MACOSA), Department of Mass Communication, CRUTECH, as well as the “Most Responsive Lecturer of the Year” 2001/2002 academic session, by Association of Mass Communication Students (AMASCOS), The Polytechnic Calabar, Ellah is married to Linda Asimole Ellah and they have three children.
