Investigations by www.calitown.com have revealed that Angela Omieh, the woman who made the wrong headlines all of last week and into the early part of this week,for operating as a soldier in the Nigerian Army, is from the Northern part of Cross River state and this is authoritative.

Paraded by soldiers of the 323 Artillery Brigade, Nigeria Army, Akure, Ondo state, following a tip-off the military received from her estranged lover, Omieh, according to the Public Relations Officer of the brigade, one Captain Ademola Adegoke, was picked up after her lover discovered that she faked membership of the Nigerian Army. In her possession at the time of her arrest were two camoflague T-shirts, a pair of shorts, one jungle hat, a pair of jungle boots and three handsets.

Sources in Ogoja, Cross River state say Omieh “…attended Mount Carmel Secondary School, Ogoja and even lived on Ibadan street before she left the area”. She is further said to have returned to the area infrequently “and we attributed this to her commission in the Army, knowing that soldiers don’t easily come home on leave”, another source added.

There is however an outrageous twist to Omieh’s travails. Persons close to her are claiming that her estranged lover may have turned her in when it became clear that the woman was hell bent on recovering the N300, 000 that she gave him in support of their botched traditional marriage which would have taken place in the early part of this year, had the man not changed his mind. While it has been discovered that this may not be far from the truth, what is annoying to most persons spoken to remains the fact that “this woman fooled so many of us with her criminal behaviour and we accorded her respect wrongly”, as a indigene of Ogoja put it. Omieh will soon be arrainged in court.
