GOING: Ekpo Okon Hints At Defection From PDP

Ekpo Okon

Calabar, 10:12:28: Former Cross River State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ekpo Okon, admist rumours that he will be defecting from the party, has faintly hinted at his planned defection from the PDP, www.calitown.com can reveal.

On his Facebook wall this morning, Okon didn’t mince words when he wrote that, “It is only reasonable to stay on a table if love is shared”. This statement is coming on the heels of his failed attempt, in the midst of unsettling intrigues within the PDP, to clinch the CR Southern Senatorial District ticket to represent the PDP in next year’s poll.

Okon’s post

When www.calitown.com contacted him over the phone this morning, the former PDP state chairman, did not confirm he was defecting but rather maintained that “where people have no value for you, you cannot be comfortable staying”.

If he finally defects, observers are pointing at the Social Democratic Party, SDP, as the platform from where he may take a shot at the Senate. The APC they further maintain already has a hugely popular Bassey Otu running for Senate under her platform.
