Frontline politician, Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, seeking to represent Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency in Nigeria’s House of Representatives in 2015, has told www.calitown.com that he is eligible to contest for the House of Reps position because of the roles he has played within and outside the party and also because he has “what it takes to represent my people at that level”.

Speaking in Calabar recently, Jarigbe further stressed that he has been a loyal party man who ran for the same position in 2006 but “lost to the superior decision of (the PDP) leadership” which he agreed was right in asking him to stand down. The aspirant who has been a PDP State Executive member as well as coordinator for Jonathan’s presidential ambition, also pointed www.calitown.com to the fact that in all the positions of responsibility handed him, “I have not disappointed my principal”.

On what he plans to do when elected, Jarigbe was emphatic that “the architecture of my policy thrust is going to be human development-based because most of our people live below the poverty line”. He emphasised the role played by the Legacy Group, a critical support group he used to assiduously work for Gov. Imoke’s electoral victory and highlighted how the group tirelessly worked and also galvanised other groups to help ensure that Imoke’s victory was emphatic.

“I have done empowerment within my community, Ogoja LGA and beyond. I have followership which constantly reminds me that I must live up to my responsibilities”. As Chairman SURE-P, CRS, he continues, “interacting with people from other states, has had a positive impact on me and equipped me with the much-needed exposure. I mean, I will not be going to Abuja to look at the buildings, after all these years of working with the people in Abuja; going there will be an opportunity to go and work at improving the fortunes of my people, primarily through the contacts I have cultivated over time as well as the interactions that I maintain”.
Jarigbe plans to carry out, when elected, “a proper needs assessment within his constituency before capturing projects. In place too will be a feedback process to ensure that they will not be any disconnect with the people, just like this will help me pursue logical projects for my people”.

He therefore appealed to people in Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency to throw their support behind him as he has consulted extensively before picking his intent and nomination forms, “I will not disappoint”, he concluded.
