Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase and his Directorate of State Security Service, DSS, counterpart, Lawal Daura have been alerted to alleged blackmail and threats to the life of one time Cross River State gubernatorial candidate, Goddy Jedy-Agba and his wife, Beatrice by the persons suspected to be agents of the Cross River State Government.

In separate petitions signed by Justina Obono-Obla of the law firm Obono, Obono & Associates, to both Arase and Daura, Obono-Obla explained that since the defection of Jedy-Agba, from the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressive Congress, APC, “…he has continually been subjected to campaigns of calumny, blackmail, intimidation and character assassination by the agents of the Cross River State Government”. Obono-Obla stressed that “for having the audacity to defect to the APC, the state government mobilized its resources and has been sponsoring negative publications on both the print and online media to smear and tarnish the image of Jedy-Agba, his wife and family on account of an equally spurious petition from the self-styled faceless group called the South-South Coalition for Change”.

Obono-Obla said it was worth mentioning that “Jedy-Agba was constantly being harassed with calls and text messages from the owner of mobile phone number 09085944279 threatening to expose Jedy-Agba to security agencies”.

While calling for an investigation to unravel the identity of the owner of the mobile number, Obono-Obla said Jedy-Agba was sent an SMS thus; “You gave Vena money to circulate a video in Television (sic) on Ayade’s campaign against Buhari. We too will be on national dailies on your activities and in open letters to EFCC and Buhari in the newspapers. Vena is on Facebook everyday insulting the Governor under your

This is absolute nonsense and rubbish. Public stay away from this malicious propaganda by greedy JD and his cohorts, let him clear himself of any allegations and stop resorting to alleged threat to his life and that if his family.
