Former Nigerian Senate President, Joseph Wayas, who died in a London hospital, more than two years ago and was only recently brought back to Nigeria, will finally be buried on November 30, 2024, impeccable family sources have exclusively revealed to www.calitown.com.

Wayas who was born in Basang, Obanliku, Cross River State on May 21, 1941, and attended the Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha, has been the subject of discussions, damning the Cross River State and Federal governments, for not immediately responding and making state burial plans for the late elder sstatesman. At a point, his local Basang community threatened to conduct his funeral without the body, insisting that the treatment meted to the corpse of their illustrious son, was something that shouldn’t happen.

The immediate family of the late elder statesman, was also fingered for a family feud which represented part of a huge slice of issues that stood between the corpse and its final resting.

“He is one, if not, the best of us. He opened doors long ago for us to dream dreams and believe we can go places. If we made mistakes in how we have handled him since he passed away, we will make amends with according him the respect he deserves in death”, a close family source, who has elected to remain anonymous, said.
