Mob In Calabar Allows Suspected Robbers Call Families Before Death

Posted on January 6, 2020 By Admin No Comments on Mob In Calabar Allows Suspected Robbers Call Families Before Death

VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED

One of the suspects.

Two suspected armed robbers were this morning apprehended and burnt to death by a mob in Akai Effa, Calabar, Cross River State.

While a resident of the area, who has elected to remain anonymous, says the burning of the suspects is “a response to the audacity of robbers and robbery in the area in recent times, a rather bizarre thing took place before the suspects were burnt to death.

A www.calitown.com reporter who rushed to the scene of the incident reports that the suspects were made to call their families and inform them that they were caught while attempting to rob and are about to be burnt to death by a mob. While the initially showed reluctance to do this, we were further informed that the menacing mob made sure the suspects made the calls before they were set ablaze.

At the Jehovah Witness Junction, Akai Effa, where they were taken to and burnt to death, a thick smoke from the burning was still visible at press time while the police only arrived after the suspects had died.
