While they has been no let off in Nigeria’s fight against insurgents in the country’s North East region, the toll this fight is taking on families of men and women fighting to keep Nigeria together, knows no bounds.

As tears flow for those felled, www.calitown.com has obtained details of four deceased Cross Riverians serving with Police Mobile Squadron 11, Calabar, Cross River State. Deliberately, their first names or initials are used, instead of their full names, for obvious reasons.

Williams being put in a body bag.

Biase LGA born Williams was shot and killed in active battle by insurgents. Painfully, his corpse was discovered and recovered nine days after, in a highly decomposed state.

A. Kingsley, Joseph and Otu, from Odukpani, Yakurr and Boki LGAs respectively, were at different locations, ambushed and felled by a hail of enemy bullets before reinforcements could reach them. We were reliably informed that all four deceased were billed to complete their tour of duty this week and return to their base in Calabar along with their colleagues who have since returned. The families of these gallant Nigerians who died in active service have since been notified.
