Police Corporal, 32 Others Paraded For Robbery In Calabar

CP Inuwa during the parade, making explanations

A police corporal (name withheld) believed to be attached to the Airport Police Station in Calabar, was among 32 armed robbery suspects paraded by the Cross River State Commissioner of Police, Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa, this afternoon in Calabar.

27 suspected cultists were also arrested and paraded while one Dominic John, a 40-year old pastor residing at Ikot Ekpo, 8 Miles, Calabar, was paraded for forcefully defiling his 12-year old house maid, Enobong John Etim on March 11, 2018.

A Police Special Anti-Robbery Squad source who spoke with www.calitown.com informed that “…imagine that the corporal and a few others who are not policemen, have been robbing innocent people of valuables. They robbed someone of a car and he took the vehicle to a spray painter somewhere in Asari Eso, Calabar, for alterations to be on the car so that no one can spot it again. We were tipped off and we got him somewhere around Efio Ette, Calabar. I am disappointed like several others that this corporal is a shady character, but happy that he will now face the law.”

CP Inuwa exclusively told www.calitown.com that people’s reluctance to give the Police information, is a serious challenge faced by his men in dealing with criminal elements. He added that the issue of unlawful proliferation of small arms and light weapons in the hands of criminally minded elements can be actively tackled if whistleblowers expose anyone known to be unlawfully in possession of such firearms. “08028311953 is the number to call and financial reward awaits any genuine information given” he concluded.
