Ricketts Enjoins APC Members To Vote For Quality Representation

As the race hots up for political parties to pick their flag bearers to represent the party at the different levels in the forthcoming 2019 general elections, a contender for the Central Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Akin Ricketts, has enjoined Party faithful to remain focused and determined to hand him the APC’s mandate in the forth coming Central Senatorial primary election scheduled for Tuesday, October 2, 2018, for a better and people oriented representation of the people.

Ricketts stated this while addressing party supporters at a rally in Ugep, Yakurr LGA, to round off his consultations which took him round communities in the six local government areas that make up the Central Senatorial District. He added that he is in the race to win and make a difference in the lives of the electorate and citizens of the district, maintaining that his aspiration is on track and that no amount of appeal would make him side with those who are opposed to the agitation of the Senatorial District especially from the old Obubra province comprising Obubra and Yakurr local governments, two specific Local Government Areas yet to have the opportunity of representing the Central Senatorial District since the return of democracy in 1999.

He used the opportunity to inform APC members and supporters that he is strongly in the race to make a difference, while pointing out that insinuations making the rounds that he was considering stepping down for any aspirant is something infantile propagandists are propagating.

The former Cross River State Commissioner for Information assured that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is doggedly determined to change the face of political representation in the country, by returning to the people the power to choose who represent them at any level. APC members were charged to keep faith with his political direction as the march towards better representation is actualised.
