UnicalUNICAL International Demonstration Secondary School, Calabar, has won two tickets to represent Nigeria in the 2015 Students for Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship, SAGE, World Cup taking place by in South Korea, next month. Led by Christy Oko, one of the teachers, the school represented Cross River State in the Social Enterprise Business category organized by the SAGE local body in Abuja for secondary schools in Nigeria and clinched the tickets to represent the country.

At the competition in Abuja, the UNICAL Demonstration SAGE Team conceived, designed and fabricated a recycling machine for the processing of such waste materials such as glass, paper and polyethylene into building tiles.

The second ticket, won by the SAGE Craft team of the institution, demonstrated the production of bio-diesel, utilizing waste cooking oil in their environment and re-branded CAL-BIO FUEL with the advantage of being safe to produce, with low toxicity and high biodegradability.
