Youth Group Wants Owan Enoh To Run For Governor

Posted on July 26, 2018 By Admin No Comments on Youth Group Wants Owan Enoh To Run For Governor

A cross section of the gathering

A socio-political group in Cross River State, the Responsive Youths Movement, RYM, says it can put forth a thousand and one reasons why it is putting pressure on John Owan Enoh, the senator representing Cross River Central Senatorial district, to run for governor of the state in the 2019 gubernatorial elections. Accordingly, it has mandated some members of the group and a few political leaders to approach Enoh and persuade him to run for governor.

Ejeh Peter, who heads the group, made this disclosure at a political sensitization workshop organised by RYM in Obubra. He maintained that as a youth organization, they have become concerned that the Ben Ayade administration has not delivered on the mountain of promises, made to Cross Riverians at the inception of the administration. Instead of any headway being made, he maintains that the standard of living in the state has sufficiently nose dived and that it is only a man as competent and credible as Enoh that will be able to fix the state’s run down economy.

Oka Martin Obono, a Professor of Sociology and APC C’River Central Senatorial District aspirant, who was special guest at the occasion, said youths in the state must begin to come together and demand that those who aspire to lead the people must guarantee that they will make workable laws that benefit the people. He wondered why Nigeria as a country has still to recognise that the rights of a child to education are fundamental and inalienable. While commending the group for putting the meet together, he charged them to eschew all forms of violence as they make their demands.

Job Napoleon speaking at the occasion

Another speaker at the gathering, Job Napoleon, was of the opinion that because Ben Ayade’s projects have visibly failed, someone with the acumen, politically, intellectually and otherwise like Owan Enoh, is the saviour the state needs at this moment. “Owan Enoh is the person who will bell the cat and give us the guarantees of a good life in our state. My people even a blind man can see that our governor has failed and we must waste no time in replacing him with Owan Enoh, so that our future can once again be assured. We must put pressure on Owan Enoh until he accepts to run.”

The executive of the group and several other persons at the well attended occasion chorused a motion adopting Enoh as their governorship candidate for 2019.
