6,342 Matriculate In UNICROSS, VC Warns Against Vices

Augustine Angbah, a professor and Vice Chancellor of the University of Cross River State, UNICROSS, has revealed to 6,342 fresh students at the 19th matriculation ceremony of the institution that his administration will not condone examination malpractice, prostitution and students indulgence in electronic fraud popularly known as “yahoo yahoo”.

He also came clear that the school authorities would not hesitate in expelling students who indulge in these vices and show no respect to the rules and regulations of the institution.

The event, he maintained, was an initiation into a place where intellect is horned and ignorance is replaced with knowledge, and not just a ceremony for the wearing of academic gowns.

“You have entered here, let nothing keep you away from leaving here with honour and glory at the appropriate time. Refuse to listen to those, both staff and students, who propagate the idea that you can only have good grades through sorting as this is not true and the University condemns this in strong terms”.

While the VC further reiterated his commitment to ensuring that UNICROSS retains the culture of excellence for which it is known for, he advised the students to put in their best and become a success for themselves and communities when they complete their studies.
