A non-governmental organization, MARIECARE INITIATIVE, says it used the last weeks of December 2019, to extend several acts of love and care to people, especially elderly women.
Marie Onen, founder and CEO of the organization, made this disclosure to www.calitown.com, on the heels of her organization’s “Project W12” an initiative that ensured that 20 elderly women in Ugep Urban, Cross River State, had basic foodstuff in their respective homes during the yuletide. She also added that putting smiles on the faces of these women who often do not have any form of assistance from the government or the society, is a challenge the organization was happy to embrace.
Project Director, Salif Gideon, present at the presentation ceremony, also added that this project was not just designed to provide free food items for the elderly, but to extend “our love to them and assure them of our commitment to their welfare as well as to give the women another reason to smile and be grateful to God.”
The women who were presented with the items at the ceremony, happily sang and thanked Onen and her team for sincerely meeting and catering for them in their moment of need. They prayed for God’s protection and wished the organization many selfless years ahead.
Onen later thanked all her supporting partners, especially the Osibanjo Emmanuel Foundation, and her amazing team on the ground.
The MarieCare Initiative is dedicated to work as a channel through which the hope of the less fortunate persons and communities is restored. It is headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
