The decision of Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, the senator representing my Cross River North Senatorial District, to join the All Progressives Congress, APC, from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is a masterstroke in political strategy; one that is better expressed in the paradigm of well intentioned surrender and transformation.
To truly live, one must first surrender to death, not physical death, but a metaphorical one – the death of the ego, the death of limitations, and the death of the familiar. It is in this crucible of transformation that the essence of our being is forged, like gold refined in the furnace of adversity.
Jarigbe’s decision to join the APC reflects his willingness to adapt and evolve, surrendering his attachment to the past and embracing the unknown, further recognizing that true growth and victory lie on the side of uncertainty. His move is a bold statement of intent, one that signals his willingness to take well intentioned risks and challenge the limitations of the status quo. With his deep understanding of the people, his ability to connect with them, and knack for crafting winning strategies, he is poised to make history – as my crystal ball shows. Don’t doubt me because his victory has a visible filip that is clearly aligned to the forces of change and the will of the people.
The APC is a party of winners, with a track record of success in Nigerian politics. His a strategic move to the APC opens to him, access to a wealth of resources, expertise, and networks. Because the APC has a strong presence in Cross River State, and Jarigbe’s has a large and religious political following, his move will certainly boost the party’s chances in the 2027 elections. Without mincing words, his popularity and political influence in the state, make him a valuable asset to the party, and his decision to join is a significant coup for the masterminds of this masterstroke.
I am certain that to surrender is often not just a sign of weakness, in instances that abound, it a sign of strength because takes courage to let go of the familiar and embrace the unknown. It demonstrates the willingness to take risks and trust in the transformative process. To surrender in politics, like Jarigbe has done, is not just a personal journey, but a collective one. It certainly requires a willingness to listen to others, to build coalitions, and to work towards a common goal. These are attributes of common purpose under Jarigbe’s political armour.
Permit my eloquent expression – Jarigbe’s journey to victory will not just be about him, it will be about the people who support him. Concede that he has demonstrated a strong connection with the people, don’t argue that they trust him, and acknowledge that he recurrently has delivered on his promises. This decision to join the APC is the People’s Decision and reflects his commitment to serving the people and making a positive impact where the people are.
In conclusion, Jarigbe’s decision demonstrates a willingness to take risks, a willingness to trust in the process of transformation, and align himself with the forces of change, in the interest of the people. Has his entrance rattled the gladiators? One thing is sure, political permutations have been altered and he is leading the pack currently because no one can doubt his capacity to make a fundamental difference and change.
