CP Hafiz Inuwa

Cross River State Commissioner of Police, CP, Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa, has told www.calitown.com that in the last one year, four of his men have been summarily dismissed from the Police, just like twenty five police personnel under his charge are facing orderly room trial on cases bordering on indiscipline. This action he further explained is meant to enforce discipline in the Police, something which he insists cannot be compromised as he strives to build an exceptional Force in CRS.

Inuwa, who spoke with www.calitown.com as his first year as CP, Cross River State came under review, also informed that his men, in the year under review, arrested and paraded a total of 529 suspects. A breakdown of the figure shows that 186 of those arrested were armed robbery suspects, 83 were murder suspects, 21 rape suspects and 40 suspects were arrested and paraded for kidnapping. Cult related arrests were 60, 80 arrests for unlawful possession of firearms, among other crimes. Already, he again disclosed that in the month of January, 2018 alone, 20 robbey suspects have been arrested and paraded, while 47 others are in police custody for several offences.

The state police boss was particularly happy that his unrelenting efforts, wisdom and persuaive approaches have enhanced the embrace of alternative conflict resolutions in thte state. He came clear that the peaceful resolution of the Nko/Mkpani communal conflict, was achieved with the help of several well meaning Cross Riverians who employed alternative dispute options.

In the year under review too, the CP pointed to the creation of additional Police Area Commands in Tinapa, Ugep and Akamkpa by IGP Ibrahim Idris, as a demonstration of the IG’s commitment to ensuring that CRS is properly policed and residents able to carry out their businesses without any threat to lives and property.

Finally, Inuwa sued for co-operation from members of the public, insisting that such information will go a long way in securing the state and her citizens, just like he reiterated his commitment to ensuring that his men deliver on the job.
