House of Representatives member, representing Obudu/Bekwarra/Obanliku Federal Constituency, Peter Akpanke, says he has set himself the surmountable task of attracting more projects to his federal constituency, in line with the promise he made to his constituents and a covenant he has vowed to keep.

Akpanke made this disclosure, when he commissioned a three classroom block, with an office, facilitated by him for the Community Secondary School, Kubung-Bette community, Obudu Local Government Area.

The new block.

“You will recall that some months ago, during my visit to the community, I was deeply concerned by the condition of the old school building, which was not conducive for effective learning. I immediately made a promise to the community to provide a three classroom block and today, that promise has been fulfilled. I strongly believe that this project will go a long way in improving the standard of learning for students of Community Secondary School, Kubung-Bette”, he said.

The representative who also awarded one term scholarship to sixteen students of the school, a contingent who rendered a welcome song, also made funds immediately available for new school uniforms, school bags and sandals for the students, in appreciation of the well rendered welcome songs by the sixteen students. The staff who supervised the sixteen students also got an instant cash prize, as shouts of joy from the community rent the air.

“I wish to sincerely thank the Kubung-Bette Community for the warm reception accorded me today. I also appreciate the party stakeholders, supporters and friends who accompanied me to commission this historic project”, he concluded.

Earlier, the community in a welcome address said Akpanke’s visit to the area is a thing of joy. They however bemoaned the dearth of critical infrastructure in the area and asked their representative to go a step further by attracting more projects to the area.

Accompanied by party stalwarts on his outlined visits to showcase and commission some of his projects, Akpanke continues his tour and commissioning of today.
