A group, Concerned Friends of Ogbiji Nyiam, has presented 1000 copies of campaign posters and a cheque of N3.5 million as proof of their seriousness and support for Ogbiji Nyiam, aspiring to become the Cross River State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

F. Bajie who led the group on a visit to Nyiam, disclosed that the group, convinced by Nyiam’s avowed commitment to excellence, political experience, man management capacity and youthfulness, decided to lend support to his quest to become the Chairman of the APC in the state. He also added that the APC will look more purposeful if it chooses him as state chairman, especially at this critical political time, as Nyiam will be the stabilising and balancing factor that the party needs. The group further assured him of their unflinching support at every step of the contest.

In his response, Ogbiji Nyiam said he was awed by the group’s unprecedented show of love, the confidence and trust in his leadership abilities as well as their donations at this critical economic times. He informed them that he had nursed this ambition since 2019 after being highly embittered by the processes and factors that led to the APC losing elections in the state. “I started consultations before the integration and God’s answer to the prayers for my party came through when the governor brought government into APC. It is a foundation for election success that our party must build on. I have the know-how to guarantee this and deliver many more positives for our party. I give you my assurances and personal commitment that if I become the state chairman of our great party, I will make all of you, the digital governor, the party and all party men and women proud of the special kind of leadership that I will bring to the table” he concluded.
