Re-elected to represent Yakurr II State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Eteng Williams says he dedicates his victory at the polls to God Almighty and the people of Yakurr II State Constituency.

Williams who interacted with www.calitown.com early this morning insisted that, “I must be humble enough to glorify God on this victory. I am not the best person in my constituency but God’s abounding grace made it possible for me to be re-elected and I am exceedingly grateful to Him. Then too, I must thank my constituents for voting for me. What they have done with their votes is to tell me that I should get back into the House and discharge my functions appropriately; that I will do”.

The re-elected member who currently chairs the Finance and Appropriation Committee in the CRSHOA, further informed that, he has a wealth of experience in the House that will be deployed, “… to make appropriate contributions to the overall functioning of the House, to identify and help address the needs of my people as well as help elevate the art of legislative governance in Cross River State. I am aware of the enormity of the task before me and the House, so working with other members, our efforts will complement the efforts of the state governor, Ben Ayade and Cross Riverians will be the visible beneficiaries of this synergy, in the end.”

He also commended his opponents and had this to say to them; “…this was all a political contest that we entered into. Yes I have won, but you are also winners, for helping to champion greater political awareness among our people as you all campaigned, prior to the election. What you have done in this direction can never be undone. I will plead that in the days ahead, as I reach out to you, you will join hands with me as we work for the general good of our constituency.”

“Let me for now pray that God will be benevolent to us all and bless the untiring works of our hands”, he concluded.
