De NorsemenGift items worth thousands of naira have been presented to the Uwanse Orphanage in Calabar South Local Government Area by a socio-philantrophic organization, De Norsemen Klubb International, DNKI, as part of what the organization says is her “…responsive approach to helping the needy in the society”, www.calitown.com can reveal.

Making the presentation to the orphanage on Easter Monday, President of DNKI, Cross River State chapter, Prof Benedict Ita, who led members of the organization on the visit, disclosed that “visits like this one have become something of a ritual for us because of our committed desire to caring for the less privileged among us. The items we have brought here have been freely contributed by members and it will bring us so much joy if you use all of what we have brought judiciously”.

Ita disclosed further that De Norsemen will begin to provide welfare and support to the orphanage on a quarterly basis.

Responding, Mercy Oti, the officer-in-charge of the facility, thanked the organization for the visit and prayed that God will order their path and grant them good health. She later took members on a tour of the facility. Items donated by the organization include bags of rice, provisions, toiletries, school bags and clothing items.
