Ebom/Usumutong Crisis: Hostilities Resume

Posted on December 19, 2019 By Admin 1 Comment on Ebom/Usumutong Crisis: Hostilities Resume

We can reveal that fresh hostilities, in the protracted conflict between Ebom and Usumutong communities in Abi Local Government Area, Cross River Central, resumed this morning, as several houses in Ebom are believed to have been burnt and lives lost in a dawn attack.

A source in Ebom community who reached www.calitown.com early this morning, added that, “as I speak with you, there is confusion in our community and several people here cannot be accounted for. We are mostly lumped together by the Ebom beach as most houses on the upper part of Ebom have been set ablaze by the invaders. I am still looking for my mother, I hope nothing has happened to her. Please help us and inform the Cross River State government that we are under attack”. Several women and children from Ebom have already escaped by canoe to nearby Ndibe beach, Afikpo, Ebonyi State, and appear distraught and unsettled.

Davis Etta, who represents Abi State Constituency in the Cross Rivet State House of Assembly, and is incidentally from Ebom, sounded very saddened when www.calitown.com reached him before press time this morning. “The attack this morning is very, very sad and unfortunate. For people like us who have been tirelessly working to bring peace to this communities, this is a major set back for the entire peace process. I am confused and short of words right now because houses in Ebom are burning as we speak and some persons have been killed. I have reached out to security agencies, that is all I can say for now”, he submitted.

I all blame the state government for all this crisis in CRS,Because this two communities are been fighting for many years now and the government of the state has not even think of any alternative,Why innocent people are dying women and children,My question is the government of CRS are they really human beings?
