Ogoja/Yala Bye- Election: Offiono Throws Weight Behind Usibe

Posted on February 8, 2022 By Admin No Comments on Ogoja/Yala Bye- Election: Offiono Throws Weight Behind Usibe
Offiono, during the interaction with the press.

Godwin Offiono, who contested the primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency in Nigeria’s House of Representatives, HOR, has in a press release today, handed the press at Statement Hotel, 1002 Ahmadu Bello Way, Abuja, thrown his weight behind the candidature of Mike Usibe, declared winner of the primaries, even though it seemed at some point, shortly after the primaries, that the party was headed for some sort of implosion, after pockets of disagreement and violence were recorded during the exercise.

Offiono said in his press release that; ” It became necessary for us to embark on this journey of presenting ourselves for service because of the sense of justice that the rebranded PDP in Cross River State portends, where impunity, godfatherism, injustice and all other forms of manipulation will not raise their ugly heads. However the exercise of 3rd February, 2022 for the Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency seat, to a reasonable extent did not observe the aforementioned, which unfortunately resulted in the crisis that bedeviled us.

The trying moment, anger and pain from the Primary election, is almost becoming a thing of the past where our Elders, Leaders, Supporters and Admirers are calming their nerves.

The People who validate the supremacy of our Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have now decided to “sheath their swords” to embrace peace and unity for the interest of the party going Forward and therefore gives credence to the Party’s supremacy to ensure the growth and development of the Party.

RESOLUTIONS

1. We have resolved to remain committed to the Party and its decision

2. Team Barr. Godwin Offiono aka Goffio will synergise with notable groups and structures of the Party to ensure that victory, indeed significant victory is recorded by the Party come 26th February, 2022.

3. I urge my supporters from the length and breadth of Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency, Cross River State, Nigeria and the diaspora to unflinchingly supports the PDP in the forthcoming Bye-Election, and beyond.”

In conclusion, Offiono maintained too that: “… my dear supporters who in the course of the Primary election sustained various degree of injuries, I passionately wish you all, speedy recovery and appeal to you to forgive for the interest of our great Party. Please be rest assured of our continuous support. I hereby congratulate Hon. Mike Ede Usibe for emerging as the party’s flagbearer for the Forthcoming Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency by-election, scheduled for February 26th 2022. I wish our great Party the very best.”
