Member of Parliament, MP, Peter Akpanke, who represents Obanliku/Bekwarra/Obudu Federal Constituency, in Nigeria’s House of Representatives, has mourned the demise of his constituent, Odey Michael Efenji, an undergraduate of the University of Calabar, killed by suspected armed robbers on November 21, 2023, in Calabar, Cross River State.

Akpanke, on a visit to the deceased aged parents in Utugwang, Obudu LGA, acknowledged the profound magnitude of this loss to the good people of the federal constituency and further expressed shock that the loss of a young person sent to school by his aged parents, can never be explained to them, even with the finest of words.

He appealed to the CRS Government to order the police to commence investigations into this heinous incident and ensure that perpetrators of this heinous act are all brought to book while offering fervent prayers to God to grant the bereaved family the strength to endure this irreplaceable loss.

Contacted for further comments, Akpanke informed www.calitown.com that, “it is a very unfortunate situation and we must all join our prayers to intercede for this bereaved family in their very serious moment of dispair. Those who shot and killed this harmless young man will find no peace until they are accosted and made to account for this wicked act.”
