“A Flyover With A Spaghetti Design At Odukpani Is Coming” – Ayade’s CPS

Posted on January 27, 2018January 27, 2018 By Admin No Comments on “A Flyover With A Spaghetti Design At Odukpani Is Coming” – Ayade’s CPS
Ita, during the programme

Senior Special Assistant, Media and Chief Press Secretary to the Cross River State governor, Christian Ita, says the state government has concluded plans to construct a spaghetti-like designed flyover at the Odukpani junction, on the Calabar/Odukpani road to ease traffic congestion on the road.

Ita who was the guest this morning on “The Public View”, the breakfast news and current affairs programme on local radio station, HIT 95.9 FM, Calabar, further informed that the accompanying dualization of the Calabar/Odukpani road was government’s direct response to the clamour by commuters for intervention on the road.

On the gale of endorsements for a second term in office for Ayade, currently taking place in the state, the CPS maintained that ” the endorsements are not stage managed. Those who insist that they are stage managed should think again. ”

Government he again maintained, has fulfilled all her financial obligations to civil servants in the state. But confronted with a contrary view, lta submitted that the cases cited were exceptional cases and that for a state with zero allocation, Ayade should be commended for paying salaries “when richer neighbouring states are unable to fulfill this obligation.” A few callers on the programme however faulted Ita’s submission with instances.

Reacting to a caller’s submission that the 2017 Calabar Carnival did not live up to expectations, the CPS came clear that the carnival is not only about the float on the streets. Several other components he said were financially benefiting Cross Riverians. While accepting that some aspects of the carnival may have been below par, “government will work at improvements especially in those components of the carnival that have recently been introduced.”
