Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, and former Attorney General of Cross River State, Tanko Ashang, family sources in Abuja confirmed, died in Abuja, Tuesday morning, October 8, 2024, as he readied himself for work.

It was not medically clear, at press time, what may have caused his death, but friends, associates and admirers of the Busi, Obanliku Local Government Area born lawyer, remain shell shocked at the untimely passing of Ashang, just two years after he was elevated to the rank of a SAN on September 29th 2022.

The deceased was Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Cross River State, between November 27th 2019 and 29th May 2023
