CRS Gov Suspends Two Clan Heads For Insurbordination

Cross River State governor, Bassey Edet Otu, has approved the immediate suspension of two clan heads, HRH Etinyin Ekpenyo I’mng Ekpo Asuquo, Clan Head of Atimbo and HRH Etinyin Archibong Ita Le’Nelson, Clan Head of Akansoko, both in Akpabuyo Local Government Area, for “unacceptable acts of insubordination.”

A press release signed by Gill Nsa, Chief Press Secretary to the governor stated that the suspended Clan Heads, “vehemently countered the directives of the governor aimed at maintaining peace and orderliness in the leadership position of the Akpabuyo Traditional Rulers Council.”

The release further stated that, the Clan Heads “are not expected to parade themselves anywhere and in any form as Clan Heads until further notice.”

“In their stead, acting clan heads will be announced by the governor”, the press statement said.
