One time Secretary to the Military Government and Head of Service in the old Cross River State, Ukandi Gabriel Ando Ogar is dead. He died after a protracted illness at the age of 76.

Family sources informed www.calitown.com that Ukandi Ogar passed on at 10.20am, Friday, June 12, 2015. The deceased who was born in Igwo, Obudu Local Government Area, CRS, is a 1964 graduate of the University of Nsukka. He joined the civil service of the then South Eastern State as an Administrative Officer, working his way up and becoming
Permanent Secretary in 1975. Between 1985 to 1987 when he retired, he was the Secretary to the Military Government and Head of Service, Cross River State.

His outstanding contributions to state and nation building earned him the national award of Officer of the Order of the Niger, conferred on him in 2006. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Ogar, children, Eric, Akpanke,
Mary-Claire, Michael and Gabriel and three grand children.

    Iwara please check that age well ooh! If he died at 76, then he must have retired in 1999, which is clearly not the case. His appropriate age should be 88 years.
