Former Cross River State Information Commissioner, Akin Ricketts has just been sworn in as the Board Chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA.

The just-concluded swearing-in which took place at the Minister’s Conference Hall, Ministry of Transport, Abuja, was presided over by Transport Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, who at the occasion charged Ricketts and his nine-man board to discharge their functions creditably as people of honour and experience, adding that he expected them to raise the performance bar in the Authority, considering the critical role she plays in the nation’s economy.

Ricketts who spoke with www.calitown.com, shortly after the brief ceremony, thanked God for this opportunity to serve and added further that he will bring his vast experience in the ports sector to bear in the discharge of his functions. He also thanked the Minister for the confidence reposed in his person and promised him that what is right and ideal for the NPA and nation is what the Board will vigorously pursue.
